SumoMe, a suite of traffic growth tools by AppSumo, is a fantastic example of using impressive stats & numbers to boost marketing & sales efforts. The...View More main number they advertise is the amount of visitors who've been on a site using SumoMe & it currently exceeds 2 billion. In terms of statistics, this is about as good as it gets. A trick for creating impressive statistics is to get as granular as possible with your numbers & SumoMe does this well. They could simply advertise the amount of SumoMe users & it would be substantial, but it's no where near as exciting as a number in the billions. By focusing on a more common event (a website visit), you can create more impressive numbers. Most marketers & companies will have a hard time deriving a statistic that large which is what makes it so unique & captivating. However, if you want to replicate a similar reach & you're taking a cue from SumoMe, the key is to create something ongoingly useful, for free, that appeals to a big market. This particularly worked for AppSumo because of their existing subscriber base, but that doesn't mean the concept can't work for you, at a fraction of the scale.

When it comes to using statistics, get as granular as possible. For instance, hours vs. minutes, users vs. visitors, total users vs. premium users etc.
Whenever you quantify something, you get more specific & getting specific is ALWAYS better than staying general. You don't want to risk looking & sounding like everyone else.
Get creative with your numbers & play to your own company's strengths. What numbers would be most impressive to your targeted visitors?
