Although AHAlife's checkout...View More process isn't vastly different from other eCommerce stores, they utilize certain strategies to help make it extra effective. The first strategy you'll notice is how they display a special pop-up deal once you have something in your cart. The goal is to expediate the purchase, secure the sale ASAP & decrease the chances of cart abandonment. Once you opt-in for the discount, it's displayed at the top of the site with a timer on every page (to create a sense of urgency). When you get to the checkout page, you notice 3 simple steps listed out (shipping, payment & review). However, unlike most checkouts, the final "Place Order" button is visible the whole time, from the very first step (it stays dim and unclickable until the final step). This is an interesting design move in that the final click seems so close, yet can't be carried out until all the necessary information is filled in.
